Question

Shape turns into mask if put beneath other layers.

I have a few shapes and compositions above one of my shapes. I need this shape to be behind all the other shapes, but whenever I drag my shape beneath the other shapes, it creates like a mask of the layers above, showing only the upper layers inside the circle. Please help!

Nevermind, I saw it was a stupid mistake on my end. Thanks for all the help though.

Hi,

That great that you got it figured out.  However I've unmarked your response as correct as it does not inform on how you fixed the problem.  If you'd please share what the problem actually was and how you fixed it I will mark that answer as correct and it can stand to assist others who might have the same problem in the future. Kindly allow others to learn from your mistake.

Thanks

It would be much better if you would send us some screenshots and give us more detailed description of what exactly uou ar doing - as Gutterfish recomended.

But I think that I can imagine what you are asking about. Tell me if I'm wrong.

When your shape layer is above your composition you can see your shape layer (like that)
but when you put your shape layer behind your compositon - shape ayer dissapears (as it shoould) but weird pask appear -like here:

Is that the scenario that you are describing? If that is the case - don't worry. Just unselect your shape layer and "weird masks" dissapear. Those "masks" are just information for you about dommensions and parameters of l;ayer that is behind - that will not be rendered in final composition.
If those "weird masks" (layer controls) are problem for you and you don't wanna to see them even if you have layer selected just use CTRL+SHIFT+H keyboard shortcut to hide them on all of layers in your composition (and one more time to show them again).

Sorry for the late reply, but here is the screenshot:

Deselecting my Shape layer(CircleDate) does not fix my problem. Whenever I drag my circle shape beneath my composition, it creates a mask as seen above. This masks disappears when I place the circle on top, but I need it to be behind the composition(Event Title Box).
