Shortcut for trimming Effects without trimming entire Source Layer?

Hey everyone,

I'm having to clone frame by frame for a project and could really use a shorcut that trims each individual clone layer quickly. The "in" point lines up when the layer is created, but the outpoint automatically stretches to the end of the source layer; which I then have to drag all the way back before starting the next layer. Is there a shortcut ( like Option + ]) that will quickly trim the clone layer without trimming the entire clip?

Thanks!

Correct answer Rick Gerard

If you are using the Clone tool in After Effects, you should open the Paint workspace. If you cannot see Duration in the Paint panel, expand it and set the Duration to Single Frame. You can also choose Custom and then set the number of frames you want to use.

You can also open the timeline by pressing the 'u' key twice, select any or all of the paint Strokes, and then just start dragging the duration start or end points around in the timeline.

Oooooo Rick baby, coming in hot with that expert sauce to spice up my work flow. The "Duration" setting was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
