Question

Show motion paths only of the selected keyframes

Hi!

I animate a human character. There are a lot of keyframes (legs, hands, head, etc.) since the comp is 6000 keyframe long. Now if I want to focus on some specific movement it is very hard because I see the motion paths of all the keyframes. Is it possible to see the paths only for selected keyframes or the ones in the workspace only?

The simple answer is no, you can't limit motion path display based on which keyframes are selected.

When I have an animation with many keyframes I usually use one of the last two choices in keyframe display to limit how much of the motion path I see.

Yes, we have a few options as to how the Motion Path is displayed.

Go to Settings, Display, Motion Path, and then choose between

the following:

  • No motion path
  • Akk key frames
  • No more than __ key frames (defaults to 5 keyframes)
  • No more than _:__:__:__ duration (defaults to 15 seconds)

Then click OK.

Change the setting at any time, as needed.

Thanks. I know this option, unfortunately it is not very practical.
