Similar side of an image in animation

In this animation text side changes. How to do similar animation while retaining the correct text side? video is attached.

Text was created in Ai file then imported to Ae.

Whenever I do this I create two different layers, one for the front and the other for the back.
The back piece is a mirror reversal of the front layer.

I duplicate whatever layer is for the front and use Layer>Transform>Flip Horizontal.
If you look at my screen shot the top layer is positioned at -1px while the back is positioned at 1px on the Z-Axis. The middle circle at this point is at 0. When they are flipped in 3D they turn around like a flipping coin.
