Simple VR Help! - 2D video to VR

I can't find any deatilled answers for this.

What have: a 4k 16:9 music video

What I want to do: Put this video in a VR space, preferably, the video is playing behind and in front of the user to there is little stretching. I also want to be able to preview what this look like in 360 space, so i can drag around to simulate was the end product will look like.

What I have tried: Creating a 2:1 composition, adding my video to this comp, and applying the 'plane to sphere effect'
