Hi! I just created a simple animation in After Effects with the Frame rate in the Preview Panel of 120. When I try to render it, I change the format from H254 to Quicktime but the video is still very slow after I play it with VLC. It has only 20 seconds, so I don't really know what is causing this. Does any know how to solve this?
120 fps is a very high frame rate for a comp. The VLC player may be interpreting the footage at a lower frame rate or it may be incapable of playback at that frame rate.
To verify that the render is actually 120 fps import the file into After Effects and check the Properties displayed to the right of the preview in the Project Panel.
I'm not sure why you need 120 fps playback. If you don't really need it, try rendering at a standard frame rate of 30 or even 24 fps.
