Question

Sonoma After Effects

So, I'm sure we're ALL aware of the fact after effects cannot run on sonoma (aside from 23.6 and 24.0)

PLEASE, please pleaseeee tell me adobe is working on fixing this... I use AE2020 and I really don't want to switch 23.6 & 24.0, especially since we cannot use rosetta on 24.0 😕😕

I'm literally losing my mind here. I edit for a hobby, and the fact I can't edit right now all because of an ios update is just frustrating.

So please, anyone who works at adobe, please try to fix after effects & any other software to be better compatible for sonoma. it sucks not having to edit.

Are you still having the issue? Let us know.

I am moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for now.

Thanks,

Nishu

Yeah, agreed😭 unfortunately, I've only had my mac for a month and a half, so I was unaware of the fact that it's best to wait before allowing a big update like this to happen.

honestly, I never did a backup, so I may just wipe my mac and go from there🙁 I'm kinda sad about it, but it is what it is

I doubt that Adobe or any other software manufacturer is interested in digging back two full-point releases to make their old software compatible with a new OS on Mac or Windows. It just does not make economic sense. If you are stuck on 22 because of some plug-ins and rosetta, and you can't update your 3rd party plug-ins, you'll have to roll back your OS (a pain in the neck) or update your 3rd party effects and your Adobe apps.

As far as I understand, there are no versions of AE yet, even the Beta, that run reliably on Sanoma. Jumping to a new operating system without a backup boot drive or patiently waiting for compatibility is not a good idea. It never was.
