Hi all, so I've got an AE file thrown at me and I need to fix the alignments of some of the elements. I'm a complete AE newbie (but I'm familiar with Animate).

There's this ONE element that refuses to be moved, and when I shift it, it moves as a whole with 2 other elements.

If you look at the image I've attached - #2 is the one I need to shift, and it's set within #1.

There's also this 'bridge' line connecting all 3 elements (I guess that's why they move together, like a group).

Can someone please tell me how do I move JUST element #2? I just need to shift it up a couple of pixels.

I can't show the actual artwork (lest I get fired), so I've replaced it with shapes 😄

Pre-compositions are compositions within other compositions while each of these compositions contains one or more elements, that is what Mylenium refers to. If you don't learn about the use of pre-comps now, you won't last two more moves and you'll come back to the same issue. So it is better that you take the time to learn its use as it is the daily bread in After Effects.

Thanks for the advice.

I don't work with AE and got this tossed onto my lap because another vendor is on sick leave, so I just need to know if there's a quick fix to this issue. I would love to dive into AE and the basics but I really don't have the time to do that right now 😅

Any help to let me know how to shift #2 is much appreciated!!
