startup crash with Adobe After Effects 2025 version 25.1.0

Hi,I followed your recommendation and moved the Camera Raw.8bi plugin file out of the following folder:C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\After moving the plugin, After Effects 2025 (25.1.0.68) launches and runs normally without any startup crashes.Based on this result, it appears that the issue is related to the Camera Raw plugin rather than After Effects itself.Could you please confirm whether, as a temporary workaround, it is preferable to:Keep the original microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dll (1.24.4.0) and onnxruntime.dll (1.24.4) versions installed and simply move/remove the Camera Raw.8bi plugin, orContinue using the older 1.17 versions of microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dll and onnxruntime.dll, which also prevent the crash?Since disabling Camera Raw allows After Effects to launch successfully while keeping the Adobe-provided DLL versions unchanged, I would prefer this approach if it is considered the safer and officially recommended workaround.Could you also let me know if Adobe is currently investigating a fix for this issue and whether a future update is expected to resolve the compatibility problem?Thank you for your assistance.Best regards, Yaeyoung

Hi yaeyoung, glad the workaround resolved the crash on your end, and thanks for confirming it here.

To answer your questions:

1. Recommended approach. Yes, moving Camera Raw.8bi out is the safer workaround because we currently are not sure what effect would reverting DLLs to 1.17 have on the apps which depend on the current version of the dll.

2. While Camera Raw.8bi is moved out, After Effects and Photoshop won't be able to import Camera Raw or related raw files. This it the only tradeoff that I am aware of right now.

3. Fix timeline. I can't promise a specific timeline, but this issue is being tracked and I'll follow up here when I have an update.
