stuck on render que and edit help

i am brand new to ae and need some help. i am trying to start an edit and it will not go past the render screen. I have force quit the app etc and it still will not close. help with how to fix it? also how can i extract audio from a video that has audio in it so that it lines with the video properly?

Thanks for sharing the screenshot. Looks like you've launched After Effects Render Engine instead of After Effects. Try launching it via Creative Cloud desktop app.

To extract the audio, you can import your media file into Media Encoder and export it as MP3 or in any other audio format.
