Super basic After Effects/animation question

Question

Hello! Often, I am animating an object using BOTH scale and position at the same time (a logo grows and moves to the side of the screen).

But when I apply an Easy Ease to both the scale and the position, the logo feels like it "curves" into position. Even though the path is a direct, straight line.

Am I doing something wrong?

Transformations all are centered around the Anchor Point. If you have a circular shape and the anchor point is in the bottom 1/3 of the circle, and you move and scale at the same time, the motion path will appear to curve as the shape moves. Center the Anchor Point on the shape you want to animate.

To fix the problem, reposition the Anchor Point to the center of the logo.
