Switching compositions every time I adjust effects

AE 2024 latest version// Has anyone experienced your after-effects project switching compositions on you every time you update a value? Very annoying - no error codes or anything. Tried restarting and clearing the cache. Any suggestions?

That's not ideal.

Are you using the 24.1 version of After Effects? Do you mind sharing a screen recording of the issue to help us understand better?
