Templates for after effects from Envato

I'm new to After Effects. I downloaded various templates from the Envato site, but when I import the AEP file into After Effects, I can't view it correctly. I get an error message relating to many files missing within the composition and what I see when I click on the rendering or on the individual level files is a box with many colored vertical stripes that move jerkily. Only the text appears correctly. Can anyone tell me why?

I've moved your post from Using the Community to the After Effects forum.

That sounds like the template has been shared without the files that make up the effects.  In the project panel, if you search for "missing" you should see a list of all the missing files.  If you recognise that you do have the files, right-click on each and choose "Replace footage" and navigate to the file.
