Text Layer squishes when moved outside of the frame.

I'm animating a text layer to come in from off screen as I've done before by simply keyframing its position value. But as soon as it begins to go off screen is starts smushing together. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Update to anyone who comes across this- for some reason Lumetri Color effect was causing it. So I removed that. If anyone knows why Lumetri would effect the skew of a layer please let me know. I'm still confused by this.
