Text Layers are Infuriatingly Slow. Still. In 2024.

This one is for the After Effects developers:

I have never posted to Adobe's community page before, but the ridiculous amount of lag and delay caused by a simple text layer in After Effects has enraged me to the point of making this post. 
Why on God's green Earth does a text layer cause so much of a delay in After Effects. Is it a processing issue? Is it because there are text animators programmed into those layers? Why?!
I am currently working on a project that only requires me to type in some text into a text layer, and each time I type a word or change a spelling error it takes literal minutes for the change to be applied. TO TEXT!! Why?! I am typing directly into After Effects too, no other programs.

So I beg you, for the love of all that is holy and just, please make the Text layers more optimized. Forget your generative tools, I just want to be able to type a message and edit the text in real time, without my whole computer bogging down to the point of shut down.
