Text not alining right (Essential Graphics panel)

I have 2 questions that I need help with.

1

I'm creating a preset in After Effects so the editor can change the text in Premiere Pro in Essential Graphics panel. It's a simple text that will be used on social media. He wants to have the text left, right and centered aligned. Is there a way that I can create a controller so he can change that in the Essential Graphics panel?

I have the text left-aligned and the anchor point is set to the far left and the shape layer and text layer are also aligned to the left. When I change the text it will not be locked to the left but it will drift a little to the left. See the image below.

This is set up so the shape layer rectangle path will follow the text. Then I have an offset paths so I have a little padding around the text.

Here is the before I change the text

Here is it after I change the text. A little drift.

Do you guys have any idea of how I could fix this?

Thanks for all the replies. Here is a screenshot of the expression that I used for the lines. This is only the first line but the rest is the same for the other lines.

The NULL is basically just so I can apply 2 sliders that are controlling the position of the lines if they are off. Basically a workaround to this problem but best if I would not have to fix it with sliders.

The Alpha is the same layer as "Box" but its an Alpha Matte for the text.

The text layer has a Y position animation and the box is parented to the text so it will animate with it.

I'm Y scaling the box layer. That is basically my animation in.

I just noticed you also have an issue with the left algnment. It all depends on how you've set up your sourceRectAtTime method and if you're animating the Text Layers and how you're animating them.

You'll have to provide the Expression used for sourceRectAtTime and provide ALL details pertaining to animating the text; if you're animating the text.

This free MoGRT from Adobe Stock https://stock.adobe.com/templates/visual-trends-history-and-memory-lower-thirds/220308977

provides a one-click solution for the user to switch between Left and Right aligned text.

I use another method but it'll take forever to explain how to set it up and this should work even though it takes a little longer to set up.

first question, no essential graphic still not supporting the text alignment, the easy way to do this is to create 2 MOGRT each with different alignment

second question we to see your workflow and how you set this layer, did you set some parent, expression so try to post some screenshoot about your workflow
