text window/brush window behaviour

Hey Community,

when i choose the Text Tool, my Brush Window closes and the Text Window pops up and vice versa. I know that this behaviour is there since forever but is there anyway to change this? it would be totaly okay if both windows are there at the same time or hide in tabs. its pretty annoying that the sizes of my windows change every time i use a tool.

You can re-arrange your workspace as you see fit and thus make your palettes permanent. Also turn off the auto-activation option in the preferences.

where do i find this option?

okay, found it in the Prefs.txt -> "Text Auto Open Palettes" = "1" and so on

if i change it to "0", save it and reopen after effects, it changes back to "1"
