Question

The composition panel does not move when I click on objects inside it, or when I move the playhead.

My specs are Intel I7 CPU processor, with Intel Iris XE graphics and 16 GB of RAM.

When I load up Adobe After effects I'm able use the program normally but after a while I'm unable to interact with anything inside the composition panel, it simply refuses to move no matter if I change the playhead's position, or if I try to move something inside it.

Is there a fix to this problem?

Hi Jayden5E05,

Hello sorry for the late reply.

 - I do not know how to check if my GPU is "Dedicated."
 - 27.20.100.9749

 - Same thing happens, the preview still doesn't move when I play the video or move the playhead. I forgot to mention that when the preview freezes, attempting closing the After Effects program results in the program not responding, meaning the only way to shut it down is to use task manager. It seems that this issue presents itself in Premiere pro as well. This issue appeared a few weeks ago and I don't understand why.

 - How do I check OS?

Pretty much the same boring standard answer: You need to fix your graphics driver and/ or the hardware acceleration settings. If that doesn't work as naturally with the crapfest that intel drivers are your options are limited you may need to switch to software-only rendering in the prefs.

What should I change in the Hardware acceleration settings?
