The effects window panel is slowing down my computer!

When selecting the effects window, the program freezes and the computer stops responding to commands for 5 seconds

That's not ideal! Sorry to hear about the issue.

What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version) and version of After Effects you're using? Are you using any third-party plug-ins? Try running After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled.
