Question

The file format for Render Settings Templates has changed in 22.2 How do I import old settings?

The render settings export format is no longer .aom it's now .ars. All of my old presets show up in the Render Queue but I can't export them from the Render Queue as .ars. If I go to the edit menu (Templates - Render Settings) only the default presets appear and you cannot import a .aom file.

My issue is I work on multiple machine and need to bring my custom render settings with me. I see no way to do this now. Is there a method that doesn't involve me recreating them?

Hi mrtdg,

Thanks for posting here!

AFAIK, there was no change to the Render Settings Templates in v22.2. If I go to Edit > Templates > Render Settings, I can save a custom preset as ".ars" and for Output Module, I can save it as ".aom". I tested it on v18, and it behaves the same way.

I am also able to import .aom and .ars files from the Edit menu. If you have a different workflow, I'd be happy to test that and get back to you with my findings.

Feel free to share a screen recording or screenshots to help us understand this better.

Best,

Rameez

Very strange. I definitely could not save or import .aom when I posted this. Now I checked and .aom is back. I don't know. Maybe a glitch that day or there was an update since then? Just happy it's working normally now. Thanks for the reply.
