Question

The file format module could not parse the file (45::36)

Hello,

I am new on here, until now I have had very little issues. I have this warning coming up when I open some of my After Effects template projects. These are downloaded Entato projects etc. I have used them many times and even the same ones I have used over and over are doing this now.

First is says - After Effects warning: Error with file

Then it says - After Effects warning: The file format module could not parse the file (45::36)

When this happens it looks like files are missing and the colours are all messed up. Florecent and super bright.

I don't think its a currupted file due to using the same template many times with no issues.

Any ideas?

I am on a brand new 2020 iMac Pro with tons of ram. No issues with anything else or any other programs.

I get the 45::36 error code when I try to load an image file that is supported but was saved with Settings that After Effects does not support. For example, AE loads PNGs that have Compression but it does not load PNGs with No Compression and gives the error code 45::36. If AE simply does not support the image format at all, then it gives me the error code 45::35 (?), if I remember the second number correctly for this second error code.

I, too, am seeing the same thing with the latest version of AE 18.2.0 and macOS 11.4 with Envato AE templates.  Im seeing this with every single one I download but I did notice that all of the projects have to be converted from slightly older versions running on Windows machines.

Without any info about the templates or for that matter the footage items in question nobody can tell you much. You need to be more specific.

i have the same problem. I used Nefela-historical-presentation CC aep (Videohive) which was working well untill I updated tot AE 18.2

Since update same problems occur with my template.

Ya. I think I found the problem. It did seem to happen right around the
update. Makes sense.

It’s not recognizing some of the files, a few .jpg and or .mov files. When
I take each individual file and convert it to something else and replace
that file with the new one. It fixes the errors. Both types of files were
always recognized before. So strange.

Ok. Well I still don’t know why it’s happening, but I do know the reason
for the error. So thats good enough for now.

Thanks
