  • The Reveal sub-menu has been added to the Layer menu. This menu is identical to the Reveal sub-menu in the layer context menu - right-click on a layer in the Timeline menu. You can also now assign keyboard shortcuts to the commands in the Reveal sub-menu, including Reveal Layer Source in Project.

Thank you!

You are most welcome, Davide Boscolo!

This was a popular feature request on user voice that is now in After Effects.

You can read the original request and all the comments here: Add composition's contextual menu “Reveal layer source in project panel” to customizable shortcuts. – Adobe video & audi…

Here is some additional information about the feature from the After Effects team:

This feature was added in the April 2019 release of After Effects (version 16.1). You can install this release via the Creative Cloud desktop application.

Specifically: The Reveal sub-menu has been added to the Layer menu. This menu is identical to the Reveal sub-menu in the layer context menu (right-click on a layer in the Timeline menu). This means that you can assign keyboard shortcuts to the commands in the Reveal sub-menu, including Reveal Layer Source in Project.

I have updated the cloud but I do not know why the after effects was updated to version 16.0.1 and not to version 16.1
