Hey experts, for real I'm so tired searching everywhere of how to do this maybe simple trick in After Effects.

It's exactly like you make something (layer - photo - element) comes from top (for example) at a certain speed then accelerates regularly, then back to it's first speed and slows down again.

I can call it (exponential curve) (ease out) (ease in) (ease animation) (scaling speed) or (smooth transition) .. I don't know what exactly.

This example is amazing, it's the same at 00:16 in this video when the name of his channel goes from the box: https://youtu.be/Hbcr6hO8SP4?t=16

Sorry for weak English btw and thanks for your time.

Best regards,

Yazeed.

Correct answer Rick Gerard

You start by only setting two keyframes, one for starting position and one for ending. Then you select both keyframes and press F9 to set up easy ease.

If you like what you see then you are done. If you want to modify the starting and ending speed curves then you can open up the Graph editor or right click on either one of the keyframes and select Keyframe velocity or keyframe interpolation and start playing with the numbers. It's real easy to see the acceleration changes in the graph editor if you have Speed Graph selected.

Information on all of these features in available in the help files and community resources. You can find the study materials by simply typing keyframe velocity or easy ease in the search help field at the top right corner of AE. Trying to do this kind of accelerate / decelerate move using multiple keyframes is a nightmare and a complete waste of time.

I , like Rick above, like to design my keyframes manually, in most cases. But many designers I work with use utilities to automatically generate ease functions.  The most common is the Ease And Wizz expression generator, which is available here:
