Time remapping issues with master composition

Hi everyone,

I just started using the Master Composition features and I love it so far. Well that was until I realised that time remapping of compositions messes up, when "Collapse Transformations" of the composition is enabled. I'm animating a website flow and have precomped sections of content down through one long composition (approx 8000px long). Some of the modules contains animation, which I control with time remapping.

Basically I have a composition which is approximately 8000px long, which contains all the content of the website, lets call it "Website - Content". This composition is then put inside another composition which is 1440px x 900px, which is where I animate the scroll. Let's call that composition "Main". Now with master properties, it allowed me to control my remapping keyframes of the "Website - Content" in the "Main" composition. However when I enable the "Collapse Transformations", it basically stops the time remapping from working. Why is this?

Collapse transformations will not normally change at all when you collapse transformations. To figure out why this is happening I need a screenshot showing the modified properties of the layers giving you problems, even in the pre-comp and a screenshot of the expanded flow chart would also help me figure out what is going on.

I just checked myself by animating shape layer, pre-composing, applying time remapping to the pre-comp, then speeding the whole thing up about 200%. Toggling collapse transformations does not change the time changes at all. I've never seen it happen so we need details to figure out what is going on where in your project.

    Thanks for the reply @Rick.

    I recreated the scenario to simplify the issue and added screenshots of it. As you can see I moved the time remapping keyframes out in the Main Composition, as this enables me to control the timing of the animation. However when "Collapse Transformations" is enabled it ignores the timing of the time remapping and plays the animation from the beginning.

    I don't know if I'm missing some fundamental understanding of precomping and collpase transformations, but it just seems a bit weird.
