Track matte and motion blur no longer works on 3d layers?

Howdy folks,

I'm working on a project that is using all classic 3D, and yet motion blur and track mattes don't work on 3d enabled layers.  I can't for the life of me figure out what could be wrong here.  Really short deadline as well, of course!  The project setting is 8 bit color, again, classic 3D layers, although they had started out defaulted to Ray-Traced 3D. Is there some other place where perhaps this setting is screwing things up?  I have double checked that all layers and precomps have no non-classic 3d settings.

Many thanks in advance for some help!!

No layer styles, and the strange thing is that after rendering the composition, the motion blur shows up in the rendering.  I was not able to preview the comp with multiple layers but HAD been able to preview motion blur in the test comp.  I have such a tight deadline that I am not even using the track matting in this project but will try to recreate that later and send a pict, as requested.  Thank you, Roei and Rick!

As for motion blur - see that you have your timeline mb master switch on.

I am not aware of any bug. Make sure you are looking at the Active Camera. Select the problem layers, press the U key twice to check all modified properties, and if you can't figure it out PrintScreen and Paste to the forum. You can also just drag a screenshot to the reply field. I used a track matte on a 3D layer with motion blur about a half hour ago and it worked just fine.

Yes, it's very odd indeed.  It's a composition with lots of text files all 3D enabled, following a null layer.  I created a test composition which works with one piece of text, but I can't for the life of me figure out what could be wrong with this much more complex composition.  It's puzzling.

interestingly enough, it seems you have figured this out on your own. what I really meant was check the master switch mb here:

but you figured out that when setting the fast preview options to "fast draft", then on 3d layers mb won't show... I wasn't aware of that actually I never use fast draft...

and what do you know - it doesn't preview alpha matte on 3d layers too... so this was probably your whole issue.

BTW, from what I read and tested, "fast draft" mode is useful really only for ray traced/C4D 3D rendererer, so this thing should be better off disabled for standard 3d anyway same as draft.

Ah, yes, of course I had that switch on.  This may be hard to believe by the stupidity of the question but I've been a professional AE user for 20 years!  HA!  I shift between making music and animation design so sometimes I lose my edge.  BTW, same with me about Fast Draft mode!  I did a project using Ray Trace renderer recently and I wonder if Fast Draft is an automatic setup.  So when I changed my 3d mode, the mistake I made was not changing the mode back.
