Track Matte Swirl Missing

Are you using an older version of After Effects? AE 2023 introduced the track matte pickwhip “swirl”. Additionally, you only have one layer in your composition, so no track matte would be possible until you add a second layer.

There are two icons in the bottom left corner of the timeline panel. The first turns on the Switches column, and the second turns on the Modes column. You can have both turned on or use the Toggle Switches/Modes button just to the right of the icons.  Shift + F4 turns the Parent/Link column on or off. 

You can also find the column options by right-clicking in the Timeline just to the right of the Source/Layer name column and clicking on Columns to pick the visible columns. I find the buttons in the bottom left corner of the timeline are easier and faster to use.
