Question

Track motion and Mocha AE tracking data not working.

Once I finish tracking, I apply the data. The key frames show up in the clip but does not effect the clip in any way. This happens with Mocha AE as well.

It is a 4K clip in a 1080p timeline / Shot on a FX3

It worked fine up until a month or so ago, any thoughts on what it could be. Thanks

Edit: It applied it to the top clip, but the clip I want to apply it to is greyed out. How can I fix, I don’t want to apply it to a null

I wasn’t able to find anything in the video you attached that demonstrated the problem you described.

The tracker is only active when the layer panel is active which is why it’s grayed out in your example.

Are you sure you are applying the tracking data to a layer (from the tracker panel) and not just copy/pasting the tracker?

In general you should be able to apply tracking data to any other layer that exists on the timeline except the layer you initially tracked.

I applied tracking data to a null and parented it to the original clip. Then it turned out worse, I followed a couple tutorials step by step, and I still get terrible results. Is there a way to check if my after effects is bugging out?

I have used these methods before so I know that I can do it and that it works, after this update it just stopped working. The footage before tracking is smoother then the tracked clip.

Here is a better video of what I am dealing with.

Here is my process to stabilizing the clip:

I import clip / apply warp stablizer / pre compose clip / track camera and then create solid and camera / hide the original video so that only the square is visible / pre compose / track motion and then apply the tracking data to the null and parent null to the clip.

You can see in the video the tracking data is not aligned with the black and blue square which I tracked. I do not understand why. I have used this method multiple times without any issues, now it won’t work.

You have a grayed out area at the end of your clip. It looks like the clip is trimmed. Try extending the right edge of the solid part your trimmed layer to the right to it’s full length and try again.

    I hope that this helps.
