I have tracked a video in aftereffects but I need to replace the video with an image but keep the camera tracking on the image instead of the video.

Without more specifics or screenshots to show your exact setup, it's hard to provide advice. It sounds like you might want to track a pre-comp instead of an individual later, then you can swap out the contents of the pre-comp.
