Question

Tracking Lens Flares...Help Please

So i'm in the process of making a video with at max 3 different lens flares. I have 2 Lights that i have made to track the original light in the video. Problem is. When I add in 2 completely different lens flares and make the source to, "Track Lights" It adds that lens flare to ever single Light that i have. Is there a way to individually select which lens flare goes to which light? Because in one scene i originally had one light that that i tracked to a spot light, a few scenes later I took that same light from the clip before, and moved it to where it tracks in a different position onto a different light in the video itself with me creating a completely new Light Layer to use for another spotlight in the video. Turns out the first scene i originally had one light on now has two and since i have the source for the lens flares on "Track Lights" it duplicated the lens flare and I dont know how to eliminate the unwanted lens flare... Help?

You simply misunderstand how this works. Not that it would matter much - you haven't even told us what lensflare plug-in you are using - but quite generally the auto-track features simply do just that - they operate on simple thresholds and look for bright spots in the image, applying a flare to each one of them. If you want to have more control, you have to manually track motion using AE's 2D tracker or whatever is your preferred method and assign individual flares to each tracker position. This is nothing complicated, but to be blunt you simply didn't watch tutorials, of which there are plenty. So hurry up and brush up on what you missed and ignored.

Sure their are a solution, the problem the original post didn't say what plugin they use, also they use a third party plugin,

anyway the solution is easy, you must rename the light you have A, B, C.... that you can change the name start with to the specific letter of the each light, please check this small tutorial to get better understand this steps
