Trouble Converting

I had a notification pop up the other day about needing to allocate more RAM to After Effects in order to render/export correctly. I have done that, but I'm finding that I can't play my exported video anywhere but in my video playing app on my windows computer. I can't upload any of them to google drive anymore, it just says connection lost. I can't convert it to an mp4 on my Mac either, I bring it over via flash drive and it loads for a while then says something cannot be read.

I've searched for solutions but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do so I can post/convert my videos?

Hi! Thank you for your kind response! I was able to fix the problem by exporting with Adobe Media Encoder instead of straight out of After Effects!

Impossible to say. You have not provided any sensible, detailed technical information. Based on your description we can only assume that whatever you actually did totally botched your system's CoDecs, so I would advise a complete repair reinstall of your operating system and all the other stuff.

Hi kategmel,

Sorry to hear about your issue! I understand that you were able to successfully render from After Effects and that video plays back fine on your computer's media player. However, you aren't able to upload it to Google Drive or convert it to mp4 or other formats, is that correct?

  • How are you trying to upload it to Google Drive? Do you have the desktop installer for Google Drive or do you upload it via your web browser?
  • Which app are you using to convert it on your Mac?

If your video is playing back without any issues on a media player, then the file should be fine. It's difficult to say why Google Drive says that the connection is lost. That has nothing to do with After Effects.

Thanks,

Rameez
