Trouble with not being able to see the effects in the null layer

I've already linked the null layer to the clip, but whenever I try to add a ''s_shake'' effect, it wouldn't show up in the preview and not change anything.


I'd have to place the effect directly IN the 'Comp_1' layer for it to show.
I'm confused if it's just bugging or is there another issue?

I think this is working as expected. Parenting one layer to another will only copy layer properties (for example: Position, Rotation, etc) and not effects.
