trying to wrap around text on path but it looks weird

hello everyone! i've been trying to wrap around my text on a circle path but whenever i do it, it looks weird and none at all like in the tutorials i've seen online. i want it to be exactly on the path, instead it looks like this? how can i fix it? i'm sorry if it's a stupid question but i cant get my head wrapped around it (pun intended!)
