Hey

i want to use the effect: "turbulent displace" on a long object. But want the object on one side to be fixed, so that the effect would be seen all the complete objekt but with a fixed beginning. how can i realise it?

Use duplicate layers, transition between them with a feathered mask, a feathered wipe or whatever.

Sounds like you're describing a flag.  A Displacement Map will get you closer than Turbuluent Displace and there's loads of tutorials, but in a nutshell:

  • create a layer with Fractal Noise on it.
  • Add a Gradient Ramp with a blending mode so that the noise fades out at one end
  • Use this layer with effects and noise to as a displacement map on your texture.
