Twixtor question

The best way to use Twixtor is to add a solid to the timeline, add Twixtor to the solid, then choose the footage you want to manipulate in the Twixtor Effects Control Panel. I never apply Twixtor directly to a clip. There is no Pre-composing. There is no time remapping. It just works.

You will find that workflow in the Help files and in good Twixtor tutorials. Most of the Twixtor tutorials I have seen on YouTube are posted by enthusiasts and the workflows are pretty awful.

Effects cannot extend the duration of layers. You have to pre-compose the unprocessed clip to a sub-comp with a longer duration and apply the retiming in the parent comp. This is standard procedure for such effects and actualyl explained in the Twixtor help/ tutorials which I suggest you watch and read as well.
