Two identical versions of AE, on 2 PC, crash with the same files!

I work with AE on 2 PCs, one at my job and the other at my home. When opening files on one or the other workstation, AE crashes instantly. Both versions of AE are identical. No missing or different plugins ... Is this a problem known to you?

    You said all effects are the same - are you using any third-party effects? Sometimes those can be a corrupting factor, or it's possible you have an older version of the effect on one machine. 

    If so, you can try [manually] uninstalling the effect. If you're able to open the project (albeit with a Missing Effect! message), you've found your culprit.

      Impossible to know. You need to be a lot more specific and provide exact details about the contents of the project, settings, system info and so on.

        This could be a damaged project file.

        What happens if you create a clean, new project and import the existing one into it?

          Agreed - this is a good workaround to try any time something wonky is happening.
