UI / interface scaling issues on Windows 11. Preferences dialog box clipped and hiding options.

Have tried all sorts of varieties of drivers, hardware acceleration on/off, Windows display scaling, high DPI Windows compatibility settings for application launch, nVidia Control Panel app settings, different cables, ports on my GPU, etc. Even fresh installed Windows 11 and AE and still have the issue. 

The most frustrating is the preferences panel does not size properly and cuts off buttons/options - making it basically useless.

In addition to that, pretty regular flickering of UI elements when resizing panels.

Often the mouse cursor's hit detection boxes when resizing is extremely narrow. Divider borders feel like "dead zones". The mouse sometimes doesn’t change to the resize icon.

Thanks for the detailed report, and sorry to hear about the issue.

A few questions to help narrow it down:

1. Is the clipping only happening in the Preferences window, or do you see it in other AE dialogs too (Composition Settings, Render Queue Output Module, etc.)?

2. When did you first start noticing this?

3. Is your display resolution set to anything other than the default (any custom scaling or non-standard resolution)?

Let me know what you find.

  1. Other panels and AE dialogs have been fine aside from the resizing hit detection bounds I mentioned. 
    FWIW, I have the same issue in Premiere as well. Illustrator seems okay. Screenshots below.

  2. This has been ongoing since upgrading to Windows 11 more or less. I first posted about the Premiere Pro preferences clipping on Reddit almost 2 years ago. As I mentioned, I’ve attempted clean installs of both Windows 11 and Adobe apps, clearing preferences, safe mode, etc. with no luck.

  3. Current display settings are below. No custom text scaling or UI scaling beyond the 150% OS wide increase. I’ve attempted setting to 100% and get the same issues. On a previous Windows 11 install, I was even attempting to clear out Registry entries for UI scaling in case something stale was left behind, no luck.

  4. Also including current Windows Compatibility settings. I’ve tried enable override by Application and System (Enhanced) with no luck. nVidia Control panel app settings are also screenshotted below.

Thanks for the thorough follow-up.

A couple more things:

1. Can you share a screenshot with the display scalling set to 100%?

2. Confirm your Windows 11 version (Settings > System > About > Version).

3. Does your CPU have integrated GPU? If yes, can you try disabling the Nvidia GPU from Device Manager and see if that brings any change? It'll help us narrow down if the Nvidia GPU is causing this.
