Question

Unable to export/render and unable to select GPU after driver update.

Hi,

AE has been working perfectly well since we got it about a month ago.  Today it started acting strange, not playing the audio on a video correctly (like a tape being played at the wrong speed) and giving error code 3 when trying to render out a video.  Also, when we go to Project settings and try to selct the GPU, the drop down window is greyed out and it's stuck on the software option.

I allowed Nvidia to update the driver yesterday, which may or may not have casued this issue.  Nothing else has changed.  I have tried rolling back the drivers but it hasn't helped.

One other thing.  Media Encoder has never worked since we got Adobe last month.  It would start to boot but always hang.  Now, it opens.  And rendered the video that we tried.  Also, the option to selcet the GPU is there.

After downgrading to AE v.23 and back again to v23.1 I can now select the GPU from the project settings, but the audio on the track still plays like tape slowing down, and the error code 3 still pops up when trying to render out.

I have tried severel different video files, all of which were fine last week but now produce error code 3.

The NVIDIA driver is 526.98

GIGABYTE Aero 5

i7-12700 2.7Ghz

16GB RAM

RTX 3070 Ti

Thanks for any help!

The recommended driver is 517.xx Studio. There are serious issues with newer versions whichz likely won't be fixed until NVidia goes beyond 530.xx.

Thanks for that tip.  I'm downloading it now and will give it a try.

The cause might be related to the memory leak. Would you chech how much the memory is consumed on the task manager and close the unnecessary tasks?

Hi,

I only had a few minutes to try this as I'm heading to work, but with only firefox open it was using about 85-90% memory.  I can take another look later on...
