Unable to launch Cinema 4D Lite from After Effects

I am getting several script errors whe I attempt to open a Cinema 4D lite project. I was unable to create an account thru the pop-up. I went to the Maxon website through a web browser and created an account hoping that would help. I've tried clicking Yes to continue running scripts without success and then restarted AE and selected No to running scripts. I only see a blank white screen

If I click what looks to me like a small on button, I see a small "x" image which typically means an image did not load properly and the script error pops up again.
