Unknown BIB Error. CT bad param: invalid CTCapStyle, Brv, 0 (83 :: 3) in AE 2024

Hello everyone, I've recently encountered an issue in After Effects that displays Unknown BIB Error. CT bad param: invalid CTCapStyle, Brv, 0 (83 :: 3) when I try to paste any text from Illustrator, even after 'Paste text without formatting' is disabled.

I've attempted to do it on other versions of AE installed on my computer (23.6.2, 24.1.0 & 25.3.2) and AI (28.7.1 & 29.6.1), but the issue continues. Basically whichever version it is, the same issue recurs even though it was working fine a few days ago, possibly after I removed a Helvetica Neue font after it was being misread as the default UI font for my computer (?) But I've tried out the clearing font cache and ArialMT methods but it didnt work.

I work on Windows version 10 if it helps!

Hi axiorei,

Can you check if it's happening with a specific font or any font? Are you using a third-party plug-in to bring text from Illustrator to After Effects? Also, try restarting your PC and running After Effects in Safe Mode

Thanks,
Nishu

Hello Nishu,

Apologies for the late response to your suggestions, I thought my problem was resolved after I updated the softwares to their latest versions but it just happened again recently. The issue is happening with every font (even the most default illustrator font), I'm only using the default windows clipboard to copy and paste text as well. This problem occurs even after restarting my PC and running both After Effects and Illustrator on safe mode!

That's strange! I haven't seen this before. Have you installed any third-party plug-ins for After Effects or Illustrator? Have you installed any new programs recently that might interfere with the Adobe apps?

Thanks,
Nishu
