unsupported file type

Hey Joe,

Welcome to the community! For clarification, you're importing a .prproj file in an After Effects project and get an error that the file is not supported. Is that correct? Do you see this error while importing all .prproj files or only specific ones? What storage device are you using to save the Premiere Pro project files? Also, please share your system specifications (OS, OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM).

Without any info about your system, the project contents, settings for disk caches and so on we can't really tell you much. From version conflicts to permissions issues on temp folders this could be anything.
