Upgrade question re: AE CC from CS5.5

I have AE CS 5.5. Is there a discounted upgrade path to a CC version? If I sign up and use AE CC for a few month, drop the usage, and then want to use AE CS 5.5 again, is that possible? I realize that a CC project will not open in CS 5.5. I would be using 5.5 regarding older project updates.

I have some specific animations I need to create using

Rigmo - Rigged Character Animation Mockup.

So I guess I want to know if AE CC negates any use of the older software.

You can always use your older version, just don't remove when installing CC. There is no discounted upgrade path though. You pay monthly just the same as everyone else does.
