Templater was designed to be as intuitive as possible for AE users approaching batch rendering with variable data.  As it processes each video from your data, it is able to apply auto layout rules and auto timeline adjustments specified by the user.  It can download remote footage referenced as URLs in your data, and organize output.  You can preview and spot check frames for each video before running a full batch process which saves a great deal of time.

Of course, I'm biased as the lead developer of Templater, but overall we hear great things from its users about how it enables and empowers them to accomplish their goals.  From their perspective, it's a force multiplier for their work.
