Using 3D Camera Tracker to Track a Long Shot in Sections

Hello Adobe community!

I've used After Effects for many years but haven't used it for tracking very much.

I have a rather challenging shot to track and I'm finding that the 3D Camera Tracker is analysing the shot ok but just hangs at the solving stage. The shot is a bit of a beast, being mono 360@60fps and around 5K resolution. That works out at around 9000 frames. I'm using a dual core Xeon E5-2630 with 128GB RAM and a 12GB TITAN X and am running After Effects CC 2018 (15.1.2). I am also using the Immersive Video tools workflow to track as advised in multiple places for tracking 360 video.

I ran a test where I was able to track a 500 frame section of the video, so my question is; is there a way to track a long shot in sections with 3D Camera Tracker and then piece the sections together?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

No, not with AE. The tracker can't be calibratred, so each solution of weach segment would be totally different and arbitrary and ultimately useless. Use SynthEyes or another more advanced tool.
