I was using puppet pin tool. My character already has a few pins and some of them are animated. Now when I click on one I've got an error message: After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <11768> <RenderThreadExecutor> <1>Creating executor with 16 threads. After Effects can't continue: sorry, After Effects has crashed. For After Effects Help and Support, go to http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_support. If you still can't resolve the issue, please contact Adobe Technical Support (2).

Hi @RalphVolks,

Thank you for reporting this issue, I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this crash.

First and foremost, has the Crash Reporter dialog shown up after these crashes and have you submitted the crash report with your Creative Cloud email? The crash report contains vital information for us to diagnose the cause of the crash, so please submit those if you can.

Some additional questions that would help us to investigate further:

  • Have you recently updated your GPU drivers?
  • Does this occur with any project when using the Puppet tool, or only a specific project?
  • Can you share the crashing project with us?

Thanks again for reporting this, and for any further information you can offer,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team
