Will there be variable font support for After Effects?

      I recently released a tool to help with animating variable fonts. It generates shape layers that can easily be manipulated.

      There is an add-on that claims to add native OpenType variable font support to AE. I have not tried it.

          I’m also looking for the same feature, or any way of animating variable typefaces! Most people I’ve talked to have suggested i animate it in CSS and even then its hard to export it as a movie file! if anyone has since discovered any plug ins/ workarounds to animating variable typefaces I’d love to hear your suggestions...

              This Plugin, sory Script do not Support all Variable Fonts.

              Some Variable Fonts, that work in Photoshop, do not work in After Effects.

                  It's not impossible, but quite unlikely. As Dave pointed out, it took them more than a decade to even allow ligatures and other advanced OpenType stuff, so don't hold your breath indeed.

                    ADOBE usually takes a lot of time to make features itself.

                    They prefer to buy up those in small creative companies and destroy the knowledge and dynamics of these companies.

                      Don't hold your breath!  It's a minor miracle that people can do what they currently do with typefaces in AE.
