very new user, after effects composition preview window glitch

I am very new at using ae so i apologize if it has an obvious solution but i seem to have a very specific and weird glitch that i cant seem to find similar incidents on google so i figured id post on here in a last resort. the window that is supposed to have the frame preview is warped and twisted looking and i cant find a solution. the frames do playback but it still remains twisted and warped for a lack of  a better term
