Video loses quality after import into After Effect

I import a screen recording with resolution 1734 × 1234 into AE and even without resizing, you can immediately see a dramatic quality decrease. I checked separate fields settings (off), changed depth to 16 and 32 bits and no effect. What can be the problem?

That's a very strange resolution. But regardless, is your viewer window set to Full resolution? Is the viewer zoom setting at 100%, rather than smaller or "Fit" to screen?
