Video THumbnails

Question

After an edit is compelte in Pr or Ae, the system self chooses the image it shows as a thumbnail in the OS. how can i select a frame i choose so the video shows that as the ref thumbnails in my OS?

You can't and that is pretty much that. In the past you could embed custom thumbnails in Quicktime files, but that was pretty much the extent of it and these functions have long been abandoned ever since operating systems started to generate icon thumbnails themselves and how those are sampled is simply different across different for every operating system. Soem use the first frame, some a random frame after X seconds, others the mid point. In order to change this, you'd have to hack the operating system settings or uses specific extensions that generate persistent thumbnails like QuickView on Windows.
