Wanna create the Doom Melting transition from Doom, AND turn it into a premiere Pro transition

I try on purpose not to ask for help because more often than not, I am asked to explain exactly what I’m trying to achieve, and I am awful at explaining what I want to achieve clearly and in detail, but after scouring Google, I have NOT found an answer or solution or tutorial on what I want to achieve, and thus, I resorted to consult the After Effects forum, hoping SOMEONE can help.

 

What I am wanting to achieve is to create the Doom melting screen effect seen in Doom(Link Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFnOLFd_ByQ&t=717s)(Near the beginning of the video, trust me, you’ll know what I mean when you see it), but I want to create a Premiere Pro Useable and configurable(as in the transitions melt time is based on the length of the transition)transition.

 

I will make note I am an absolute beginner so talking on a pro level WILL melt my brain cells, as one may say, try to explain it for those who are inexperienced.

 

I wanna try to make the screen melt 1:1 if possible, please help, if anyone can.

I agree with Mike. Card Dance would be a good place to start, but so would be the various "pixel smear" tutorials out there. just don't expect any of this to be trivial. Such stuff uses displacment/ parameter maps and that's a magic sauce you have to master. also of course there are limits in how accessible and reusable this will be from within Premiere even canned in a MOGRT template. You have been given the big words now, so an excursion into the online help and looking up tutorials might yield better results.

OK, so you've just had your first couple of driving lessons this week.

You've now turned up at a circuit and want to drive NASCAR 🙂

 

Sorry. There is no easy button. But to point you in one possible direction, I would look at the card wipe effect driven by a fractal noise layer. You'll probably also need some directional or motion blur.

On the After Effects menu bar you'll find the Help menu. In that you'll see 'Effects Reference'. All the effects and their properties are described in there, Card Wipe is under Transition effects IIRC. That's an excellent reference.
