Question

What are the uses or intended uses of the "hairbrush_bg", "hairbrush_fg", "samurai_bg" and "samurai_fg" sound effects?

My coworker found these in the Program Files folder ( Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects [Version]\Support Files ). We were hearing them and wondering where they’re used. I have found no mentions of them anywhere. Are they just an easter egg or something left by the devs?

Nice find! Honestly, I wasn't aware of this one either. Love that ShiveringCactus surfaced it. Learning something new about the app I work with every day. AE clearly has a bit of a tradition with hidden Easter eggs like this.

    Enjoy the discovery!

    Thanks,

Ah, you’ve found some easter egg files.  I learned about them when researching my video on the history of After Effects.

If you activate a setting in rotobrush, the samurai sound effect plays.  I’m trying to find my links to the article, I found, but this one backs up what I’m saying at least:
